Lyrical Moscow

As you might know, I had a nice trip back to Russia (and then Montenegro) this past September-October. I was postponing going through the pictures until yesterday, when I suddenly fell into lyrical mood. :)
It was the second time I was going to Moscow as a "visitor" since I moved to New York and it feels like I am going back home. I had weird love-hate relationship with this city that wasn't very welcoming every time I was coming back from traveling or my parents' home. Moscow was always busy, gloomy, dirty, too deep in the ground, grey and wide spread. However, this time I am holding only warm and positive feelings! The city means a lot to me and I was happy to see everybody I managed to see (sorry to those who I didn't have time to chat with).

I still don't know how they landed the plane with this fog, I literally saw the land only when we touched it. As a reminder that there was the sun above Moscow, I took this sunrise picture (below). I wish there was more sun there, how can you live in darkness most of the time?!

The very same day I met my sister at Didu and we didn't split since then. No need to say how happy I was to see her and give her many hugs!

Then Ulya, who btw makes fantastic jewelry (see here), drove me to Oldich, another nice and, I would say, not very usual for Moscow mentality place (forgive me, oh bourjois classy people). I really liked the idea of a vintage shop and a cafe combined in one place, it feels very classy to sip your tea around chic aristocratic clothes and decorations. Much recommended! (As well as pear pie with rosemary ice cream)

After we came back from Montenegro (which you can read about here, here and finally here) I spent another day in Moscow, which luckily for me happened to be very sunny! Yay! Here are few pictures from Izmaylovo and Arbat Street

Whatever I say about Moscow, do not listen to me. Go and visit! Many unforgettable and unique impressions and feelings are guaranteed :) Much love to Russia and you have a happy Friday! ;)
